Where To Get COVID-19 Testing in Magnolia, TX
If you’re in Magnolia, Texas, and you’re concerned about a possible exposure to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), you might want to take advantage of the convenient and accurate COVID-19 testing services available at Medella Urgent Care. Because COVID-19 is highly contagious and mainly spreads through person-to-person contact, the best thing to do if you think you were exposed is to immediately self-isolate—even if you feel fine—and contact us.
What Type of COVID-19 Testing Might You Need?
Medella Urgent Care offers three types of COVID-19 testing:
Curbside COVID-19 Genetic Testing
This test for an active COVID-19 infection involves a nasopharyngeal swab, which is a method of collecting a sample of nasal secretions from the back of your nose and throat. During the testing process, you will remain safely in your vehicle. When your test is complete, your sample will be sent to a lab, where it will be evaluated for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. We will contact you to discuss your test results as soon as they are available.
Rapid In-House COVID-19 Antigen Testing
This test for an active COVID-19 infection also involves a nasopharyngeal swab. When your test is complete, your sample will be immediately processed on site using Quidel Corporation’s Sofia 2 SARS Antigen FIA, which can detect SARS-CoV-2 within minutes.
COVID-19 Antibody Testing
This test for a past or current COVID-19 infection involves taking a blood sample. When your test is complete, your sample will be evaluated in a lab for the presence of antibodies to SARS-CoV-2, which would have been produced by your body’s immune system in response to an infection. If you have symptoms of active infection, such as a persistent cough or fever, we may suggest COVID-19 genetic testing either alone or in tandem with COVID-19 antibody testing.
When you arrange to receive a coronavirus test at Medella Urgent Care, we will explain the safety protocols we have in place to protect the health of our patients and staff. As we respond to our community’s critical need for COVID-19 testing, our urgent care clinics continue to accept walk-in patients who require care for other non-life-threatening conditions.
