Nonemergency Wound Care Offered Daily to Walk-In Patients From Spring, TX

Cute little girl sitting on the ground, clutching her knee, which has a large cut after she fell off her bike at a park. Many of life’s cuts and scrapes can be treated at home using a disinfectant and adhesive bandage. But if you’ve stepped on a nail or a piece of glass, it’s a good idea to seek wound care from a trained medical practitioner. This is also true if you have a wound that’s not healing or looks like it might be infected. If you’re in the Spring, Texas, area, you can feel confident about seeking treatment for your wound from the highly qualified medical practitioners at Medella Urgent Care.

Our Vintage Park walk-in clinic is only a short drive from Spring, and nonemergency wound care is among the many medical services we offer to local residents and visitors of all ages every day of the week. Our wait times are short, but you can use our online booking service to select a time for your visit if you wish.

When Should You Seek Wound Care at Our Walk-In Clinic?

If your wound looks deep or was caused by an animal bite, you’ll want to have it evaluated and cleaned by our experienced medical team. If stitches are warranted, we can provide suturing. We can also prescribe antibiotics to prevent infection and other medications to promote healing. If you haven’t received a tetanus shot or you’re not sure that your vaccinations are up to date, we can administer the tetanus vaccine to make sure you’re protected from this serious disease.

You’ll also want to seek professional wound care if your injury looks infected or isn’t healing after a few days. Some signs of an infected wound include:

  • Pain and redness that doesn’t improve or gets worse
  • A thick, smelly, yellow or brown fluid draining from the injured area
  • The development of a fever and/or chills after the injury

If you have diabetes or a weakened immune system, you may wish to seek medical treatment for your wound without waiting to see if it will heal on its own. Another time to seek urgent care treatment is when you or your child has received a facial wound and you’re concerned about scarring.
