Convenient On-Site COVID-19 Testing for Businesses in Spring, TX

Medical professional in protective clothing and mask holds nasal swab, preparing to insert it into nose of young woman with uplifted face

Keeping the workplace safe has taken on new meaning since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. Vaccinations and working remotely are effective weapons against the spread of the highly infectious virus that causes COVID-19, but those solutions don’t work for every employee and employer. COVID-19 testing continues to be among the best ways to identify infected persons so they can take steps to protect others from infection. But many employees may find it inconvenient to seek COVID-19 testing on their own, and their absence while seeking testing can cause workflow disruptions and a significant decline in productivity. Is there a better solution?

Indeed, there is, for businesses in the Spring, Texas, area, thanks to Medella Urgent Care. We’ve added on-site COVID-19 testing to our list of mobile health care services for businesses with more than 20 employees.

Types of On-Site COVID-19 Tests We Offer

Medella Urgent Care is pleased to offer the same coronavirus testing options in our mobile health care services as we provide at our walk-in clinic in Vintage Park, not far from Spring. Here’s a brief description of the COVID-19 tests we offer:

Rapid Antigen Testing

This is a nasal swab test designed to identify an active COVID-19 infection by detecting antigens associated with the virus that causes COVID-19. This test is appropriate for employees who have COVID-19 symptoms or have been in close contact with someone who tested positive for the disease. The primary advantage of this test is its fast turnaround time—results are usually available within minutes.

Polymerase Chain Reaction Testing (PCR)

Another test that involves nasal swab sampling is the PCR test, which is also designed to detect an active coronavirus infection. Considered by many experts to be the gold standard in COVID-19 testing, this test has a high accuracy rate but a longer turnaround time than the rapid COVID-19 antigen test. Results are typically available within one to three days.

Antibody Testing

This test requires a small blood sample and is appropriate for employees who think they may have had a prior COVID-19 infection and recovered. Those who test positive may have some level of protection against reinfection.
